A Sense of the Sperrins - Short Course

Sperrins Gateway Landscape Partnership present 'A Sense of the Sperrins' - A Queens University Open Learning Short Course at Kilcronaghan Conference Centre and St. Patricks Church of Ireland Glenroan

Set in the beautiful foothills of the Sperrins and using its natural and historic heritage, the course will look at the landscape and human geography of the Sperrins, giving its distinctive sense of place. We will investigate the impact of early humans, key historic developments and land management to this unique Sperrins landscape and looking at how the landscape influenced the local communities and how they live.

Community Walk Leader Training

Saturday, 1 February, 2014

Walking In Your Community in conjunction with the Sperrins Gateway Landscape Partnership, have an exciting free training opportunity for Community Leaders and Volunteers to become Community Walk Leaders. The training takes place Saturday 1st February 2014 at Springhill National Trust House, Moneymore. It is run by highly qualified Tutors who will offer guidance and support to participants who will learn about basic walking skills.

Date -      Saturday 1st February 2014

Time -      9.30am - 5.00pm 

Venue -    Springhill National Trust House, Moneymore

Booking early is recommended to avoid disappointment.

Cancellations - Whilst we hope to provide this training free of charge for community leaders and volunteers, due to the limited number of free places, if you are unable to attend the course, you are required to cancel 1 week prior to the course date. Failure to do so will result in a fee of £45 per person.

 

Digital Photography

This is a five session course over the next five Mondays (excluding the Bank Holiday)

Location:  Northern Regional College Magherafelt

Time: 7-9pm

The class will work  expert, Stephen Wilkinson, to look at taking photographs and using Adobe Photoshop to improve them.

Data sticks will be necessary so participants can take their copies home in a digital format.

The course is free and run in partnership between Sperrins Gateway Landscape Partnership and the Big Lottery's Living and Learning Project.
